New Images: Día de los Muertos

Celebration of life and the dead

From October 31st to November 2nd, the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is traditionally celebrated in Mexico.
This is a colorful, life-affirming folk festival in honor of the dead: floral decorations, symbols of the dead, skulls and skeletons decorate the streets and shop windows during this time.
Of course, good food must not be missing at a folk festival ... Typical Mexican dishes and cultural backgrounds are provided by the book "Not food for Old Men" by Sime Books
